The Foreign Exchange Remittance Card Scheme was launched by the Ministry of Finance through OPF in September 2001 to encourage remittances by Overseas Pakistanis through normal banking channels. Originally Gold and Silver cards were offered to those overseas Pakistanis who were remitting US$10,000 and US$2,500 in a year respectively. A wide range of incentives are being offered to those overseas Pakistanis including the following incentives/benefits:-
Separate Counters for special handling at arrival and departure lounges at airports, and Free issuance and renewal of passport on an urgent basis.
